I visited Yosemite when I was a child, and my favorite memory was blinking my flashlight at the cliff side from the road, and watching the responding blinks from the climbers...if we yelled greetings loud enough, they'd yell back. Love this shot, magical.
It's strange to see the conflict between the natural light of the stars and the lights from the people camping on the mountain face, it invokes feelings of whether or not we should be there.
This image invokes a sense of sadness in me, for the utter destruction we impose on everything around us. Don't get me wrong, I am not what you would classify as a tree huger, but seeing the face of a magnificent rock scarred like that... Sometimes it is better to appreciate from a distance.
I have some very conflicting views on that as well. For one I respect those who can climb the wall, but at the same time it is really sad to see such an iconic piece of nature scarred like that...
