The Maroon Bells are one of the most photographed spots in all of North America, and especially this time of year when the aspens are at peak color. i got to the shore of maroon lake pre-sunrise with about 40 other photographers, and i didnt have very high hopes. Mostly because i could only see about 20 ft in from of me. The rain and fog had settled in really thick. but the thing about that type of weather is that theres a possiblity of getting a really good show of light if the fog lifts as the sun comes up. which is exactly what happened this day. for only about 5 minutes the fog lifted to reveal the mountains, and I was able to get off a bunch of photos before the next batch of fog rolled in and hid them again.
