First Rays by Nate-Zeman First Rays by Nate-Zeman
Don't let the warm light fool you. It was really really cold up there this particular morning.

Now this is stunning! I love the light and framing. The rocks almost appear to be on fire.

Nice shot, how did you get the star shape from the sun?
Reply
:iconnate-zeman:
Nate-Zeman Featured By Owner Jan 11, 2009  Professional Photographer
The sun star is a result of using a small aperature setting with a wide angle lens. usually to get a good sun star the sun needs to be partially blocked by something.. either the horizon or a cloud or something. you will get different results with different lenses as well.

I see you got it with f/16 blocked by the Arch, truly an amazing capture. I have the 10-22mm so I will have a play around, thanks :)

wow :jawdrop:
when i first saw this photo i immediately thought of Peter Lik's photo "Echoes of Silence" [link]
but i must say i like this one much more...the color created by the refection of the light on the snow and rocks is amazing...it looks so warm...but im sure it was freezing out (definitely worth it though). also the sun rays are perfect...great timing.
its one of those photos that makes you want to just keep staring at it forever...definitely one of my favorites of yours

I don't think there's much I can say about this photo that hasn't already been said. Except that you've perfectly captured the beauty of the scene as I'm sure you saw it.

Nicely done.
