My friend Ian is out here visiting, and we went on an awesome hike up and into the dune field at Great Sand Dunes National Park. It's really amazing there especially at sunset. It was incredibly cold however.. my hands were hardly functioning by the time the sun was gone and the shooting was over. Luckily there was a long hike back to the car to get the feeling back.

Fantastic - a fine example of "how far you have to go" to get the perfect shot. While it's possible to get shots right from a roadway, it's severely limiting. Trekking into the wild is certainly one of the best ways to capture nature at it's finest. The other option is a helicopter, but that tends to be out of most folks price range
