I set up here as a nasty storm passed through Arches. I was hoping to get a lightning shot. That didn't happen, but as the storm started to clear the area the sky got pretty interesting. I wanted to include the road in this shot because sometimes its hard to get a good sense of scale in a photo like this.
I visited there this summer, but it wasn't nearly as cool looking --> It would be appreciated if you saw my pictures of Double Arch, though. -adds your to favorites-
That would be an awesome shot on its own - without the storm - but you add the storm in and it adds worlds more to the landscape. I love the deep, blueish grays in the clouds and the rain drifting down over the sculpted landscape (complete with rainbow!). I like how it's all laid out in a horizontal wonderland of spires and windows. Have you experimented with cropping on this shot? I'm not sure the top third of the image adds a whole lot to the composition, but that's just me. She's a beauty, either way. Just something for you to think about.
